Storing and Handling Powders and Bulk Materials for the Batteries Industry

This new course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and solutions in storing and handling bulk powders used in battery manufacturing, and to explore best practice and industry standards for safe and efficient material handling. 

 

The course will also involve the role of material properties in storage and handling, and their impact on product quality and process efficiency.

 

Course presenter, Dr Vivek Garg has been helping companies involved in the manufacture of batteries to better understand the problems encountered when handling and storing these bulk materials and has used this to create a bespoke course for the industry.

 

During the course he will cover the subjects of

Basics in operation, design and specification of hoppers, silos, bins and bunkers,

An introduction to the storage and flow of bulk solid materials

Feeders and feeding

Hopper discharge aids

Prediction of discharge rates focussing on battery materials.

 

He will also look closely at ways to determine the correct design for reliable discharge, including determining flow properties of battery materials, hopper geometry and practical

This course is designed for professionals involved in material handling, storage, or processing within the battery industry. Ideal participants include process engineers, R&D professionals, plant managers, and supply chain specialists.
